Shipping service provider<\/h2>\n

It is up to you which shipping service provider you choose. Some are faster, some are cheaper, and one may be right around the corner from you.<\/p>\n

If there are problems, they usually arise during delivery. Some drivers are more motivated than others, some pay better attention and some can’t find the address because they are new.<\/p>\n

However, delivery agents change from time to time, so we cannot give a general recommendation here. We are happy to give information by phone if there are current preferences from our side.<\/p>\n

Insurance<\/h2>\n

Of course, you should insure your package at the current value of goods. However, this will only help in case of loss or verifiable damage by the shipping service provider. Transport damages are only avoided by proper packing, please follow our packing instructions.<\/p>\n

Packing Instructions<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We are frequently asked how to properly pack and ship an amplifier, guitar, or other gear. To make things easier, we’ve put together the most important guidelines below. Devices packed according to these instructions can be shipped safely and without concern.<\/p>\n

\n

1. Preparing the Amplifier \/ Guitar \/ Device<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • \n

    Remove all accessories and loose parts<\/strong>, such as picks, patch cables, spare tubes, or detachable casters. Please do not<\/em> include detachable power cords unless they are permanently attached to the unit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Visually inspect the device<\/strong> for any existing damage before packing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Ensure all screws are tight<\/strong>, especially the chassis screws on amplifiers. Nothing should rattle or be loose. Also check the reverb bag\u2014it often comes loose.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Tubes:<\/strong> Secure power tubes to prevent them from falling out or shifting. Use foam to hold them in place, or remove them and pack them separately in a small cardboard box (which can be placed inside the amp). Preamp tubes with shielding caps do not need to be removed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Secure the power cord and footswitch<\/strong> so they don\u2019t move around inside the amp. Fill the interior with bubble wrap or newspaper if necessary.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    If your amplifier has a protective cover<\/strong>, feel free to include it in the package.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \n

    2. Choosing the Right Box<\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • \n

      Use a sturdy cardboard box<\/strong>\u2014typical moving boxes are usually not strong enough.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Don\u2019t choose a box that\u2019s too large. Aim for 5\u201310 cm (2\u20134 inches) of clearance<\/strong> on all sides.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Recycling centers or nearby businesses are often happy to give away boxes and packing material\u2014just ask!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n

      3. Choosing the Right Packing Material<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Recommended:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Rigid foam sheets, molded foam parts, original boxes with corner supports<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Crumpled paper, bubble wrap<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Even pillows can work in a pinch<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Avoid:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • \n

          Packing peanuts, chips, air cushions (they don\u2019t absorb impact), flat newspaper, plastic wrap<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Pet blankets or other improvised padding<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Mixed\/chaotic packaging with random paper, trash, or debris \u2014 we reserve the right to charge for cleanup in such cases<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          \n

          4. How to Pack an Amplifier<\/strong><\/h3>\n
            \n
          • \n

            Place a protective shield<\/strong> (e.g., thick cardboard or a thin wooden board) in front of the amplifier\u2019s grill or faceplate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Wrap the amp completely in bubble wrap<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Place it in the box, ensuring the amp is tightly clamped in place on all sides<\/strong>, especially the corners. Use multi-layered cardboard or other rigid padding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Fill all gaps with appropriate packing material. Pay special attention to protruding parts<\/strong> like knobs or switches\u2014do not<\/em> let them bear any load and protect them separately if needed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            The amplifier should be packed firmly and airtight<\/strong>. It must not<\/em> move inside the box.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Test the package by shaking it<\/strong>\u2014if it feels like a solid block, it\u2019s ready for shipping.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            5. How to Pack a Guitar<\/strong><\/h3>\n
              \n
            • \n

              If the guitar is in a hard case, pack the case inside a rectangular outer box<\/strong>, and fill all gaps to prevent movement.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Guitars without hard cases are difficult to ship!<\/strong> Please call us first for advice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Remove or secure all loose parts and loosen the strings slightly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Some instruments (e.g., Explorer, Flying V, bass guitars) may only be shippable as oversized items<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              6. Shipping \u2013 General Notes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                Always check the dimensions and weight<\/strong> of your package before shipping. Maximum sizes and weights are listed on the websites of shipping providers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                Standard parcel services usually allow:<\/p>\n

                  Up to 31.5 kg<\/strong> with DHL<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Up to 40 kg<\/strong> with GLS<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Pay attention to maximum girth<\/strong> and length<\/strong> limits.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Heavier packages must be shipped via freight. We can help arrange pickup if needed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  \u26a0\ufe0f Parcel service drivers do not<\/strong> handle packages with care. Labels such as “FRAGILE”<\/strong> or “GLASS \u2013 HANDLE WITH CARE”<\/strong> are ignored<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

                  Your package must survive a 1-meter (3 ft) drop<\/strong> without damaging the device inside.<\/p>\n

                  Transport damage claims are rarely successful\u2014the cause is almost always poor packing.<\/p>\n

                  Insurance generally only covers loss<\/strong>, not damage\u2014unless you can prove professional packing.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
