Great Fender Precision Bass Plus in black with white pickguard from 1992 in original condition, also nicknamed “Longhorn” or “Boner Bass” due to its extended upper horn. What looks unusual compared to the traditional body shape hangs all the more comfortably and less top-heavy on the belt. The additional jazz bass pickup fitted ex works on the bridge gives the Preci a versatile sound. A push button switches the neck pickup in series or in parallel. Instead of a tone pot, a Fender TBX Tone Control is installed. This is a double potentiometer with center detent, which is connected to a tone capacitor and a “preset” damping resistor.
\nYou get the following effects: When fully turned up, more than 1 MegOhm is parallel to the volume potentiometer and can be reduced to around 100kOhm in the middle position. The sound is therefore attenuated. The tone capacitor comes into play from the mid-range notch and from then on the TBX works like a normal tone potentiometer. Especially in the range between 5 and 10 you get an interesting sound variation through the nuanced “softening”.<\/p>\n
The bass is in good condition, only a small scratch in the top and slight play marks\/scratches on the back (black is an ungrateful color for this). 2 feet are missing from the case.<\/p>\n
