1978 Gibson – RD77 Artist – Moog Electronics – ID 5296

The late 70s were an exciting time for Gibson - with the RD series ("Research and Development") they ventured into modern territory.
The RD77 Artist, developed in collaboration with Moog, was Gibson's attempt to combine traditional construction with innovative electronics.
This example from 1978 comes in a fireburst finish, with a long 25.5" scale (only produced for a short time before returning to the classic Gibson scale).

A true testimony to the 70s Gibson era - and equally interesting for collectors and players.
