1989 Pierre Anastasio - Gypsy Jazz Guitar - ID 2468
Pierre Anastasio (1937 - 2007) was a French guitar maker of Sicilian origin,
Son of guitar maker François Anastasio and father of guitarist Frank Anastasio.
He arrived in France at the age of 10.
He did an apprenticeship with Antoine Di Mauro at the age of 14.
After his training, he produced jazz guitars and classical guitars with his father in his workshop in Montreuil.
In 1972 he took over the family workshop and in the 1980s specialized in the manufacture of classical concert guitars and Selmer jazz guitars.
He died in 2007. The hall of the Montreuil Music Conservatory is a credit to its name.
The guitar is built according to the Selmer specification:
Oval Sound Hole
Spruce top one-piece
Neck with Ebony Fretboard
With case (vintage)
Weight: 1932 gram
Made in France
The guitar really has character and can be played as smooth as butter.
One area has been reglued and it is slightly damaged under the trapeze.
