In 1976, Marshall equipped its amps with a master volume control. The company took the 1959 and 1987 models as a basis, removed the Normal Channel, and added a pre-phase inverter master volume to enable preamp saturation at low volumes. The new models were named the Marshall Master Model 100w Lead #2203 and the Marshall Master Model 50w Lead #2204.
Around 1977, the amplifiers' appearance was changed once again: toggle switches were replaced with rocker switches, the Marshall logo was enlarged, and the front panel was given thick white binding.
This 2203 JMP 100W Mk2 Master Lead head, built in 1977, has undergone quite a few modifications over the years. There are several additional jack holes in the back and front panels that have been filled in.
Several components on the circuit board have already been replaced.
The amp was inspected at our workshop, during which, among other things, the power tubes were replaced.
The amp has a second front panel in white with black lettering.
The cosmetic condition is good for its age.
