One of the most unusual Les Paul variants ever.
The Les Paul Recording was developed in close collaboration with Lester Polfuss (Les Paul) with the aim of creating an instrument specifically for studio and recording applications.
Low impedance pickups, extensive electronics and maximum sound control were the focus here.
This specimen from 1976 is particularly interesting:
The controller arrangement and body routing differ from the known production models, which could indicate a possible early transition or prototype model.
The guitar also has a sunburst finish, which is not normally found on recording models.
A truly exceptional piece of Gibson and Les Paul history and a real collector's item.
