Duane Eddy's 'twangy' guitar sound, which he played with a Gretsch Chet Atkins hollow body guitar, made him the most popular solo guitarist of the late 50s.
In 1961 he received from Guild his own endorsement contract.
The Duane Eddy model was based on Guild's T-500 and has two Gretsch-typical features, the Bigsby vibrato and a master volume control.
The DE-500 model was built until 1969 and was only reissued in 1983 using old NOS components in order to be as authentic and accurate as possible.
This guitar model was produced between 1983-1987 only in small numbers.
This guitar comes from the first owner and is in mint condition.
