The Ampeg VL-1002 , designed by Lee Jackson, is a two-channel, 100-watt tube amp with plenty of punch and a very distinctive take on the British rock sound.
The VL-1002 is often described as a sort of JCM 800 on steroids —powerful, aggressive, and with plenty of punch.
At the same time, the clean channel is surprisingly versatile and remains sonically distinct from the second channel.
The amp became well-known, in part, thanks to Tom DeLonge during Blink-182's early days.
