In 1968, 8 years after the end of production came the re-launch of the Les Paul.
Two models were offered at the time, a "56" gold top and a "57" black custom.
This first series with One Piece Body and Neck was still very similar to the 50s model and is therefore so sought after by collectors.
The neck of the 68 has no flute yet and is made of one piece of mahogany.
The 1968 Gold Tops were equipped with P-90 pickups.
Many were converted to humbuckers, as was this rare example.
Lindy Fralin Weak Al II PUs are currently installed.
A Bigsby and another bridge were probably also once installed, see photos.
Great, very light guitar and the Lindy Fralin's sound great.
