The short-lived Marauder model was developed by Gibson zw. Produced in 1975 and 1979 with minor modifications to enter the market for single-coil guitars with bolt-on necks.
- Mahogany body in Les Paul form
- bolt-on three-piece maple neck with Flying V style headstock
- glued-on maple fingerboard with 22 frets with pearloid dot inlays
- pickups designed by Bill Lawrence, which are housed in transparent epoxy caps
- regular humbucker on the neck
- small blade-style humbucker angled at the bridge (looks like a Fender Tele
Custom from the 70s)
- Master Volume and Master Tone with speed knobs, in between a blend control with
Chickenhead knob for stepless pickup selection
- Schaller "Harmonica tune-o-matic" bridge
- Gibson Stoptail
- closed Gibson Deluxe Tuners
- Satin finish
- Weight: 3872 gram
- incl. Gibson Chainsaw Case, strap, spiral cable and tuning fork
The guitar is in good condition, the varnish on the back has probably been peeled off by a stand. Also minor varnish repairs on the body and fingerboard.
Paul Stanley from KISS was seen on the posters for the Marauder advertising campaign and is said to have tested the robustness of this model on stage several times.
