In the mid 80s Fender was sold by CBS and after some teething troubles (e.g. no factory in the USA) they were finally able to present a Made in USA Stratocaster at the 1987 NAMM Show: the Fender American Standard Stratocaster. Not a reissue, but a further development.
This guitar has only a few slight signs of wear and pressure marks for its age. The pickup milling in the body is the so-called bathtub. The Olympic White color has now yellowed to a more vintage white. Some of the alliances have Notches, but you don't notice them when playing. New strings were fitted and the setup was readjusted. The 5-way switch has been replaced (the original one is enclosed).
