According to the relevant literature, this is one of about 100 VOX AC30 built around 1964, which combine a so-called COPPER PANEL with integrated TOP BOOST.
The amp is largely original and has been checked through and refurbished at CGL. The potentiometer knobs are NOS. The foot switch is new.
Not original to the amp, but very attractive, is the original and very rare 1963 Transition case, which still has square backpanel corners and square edges on the case back, which was changed to rounded edges and rounded backpanel corners sometime in 1963. Original to this case were the brass vent covers and already the staple handles, rubber grips. This is extremely rare in combination and justifies the effort that was made in restoring the cabin. The brown Grillcloth is a heavily faded black one from 1965 that matches very well and looks better than any repro in brown. Backpanels and chassis sliders were renewed.
Although this Copperpanel Top Boost probably never existed originally in the Fawn reference, but such a rare chassis also deserves a special housing. And this looks good even in the well-groomed living room.
The silver Celestion is original from about 1965. The blue one is older and was reconed years ago.
