A real rarity from the late 70s Japanese era: the
Ibanez Artist 2700
. This model is a hybrid between the Artist 2622 and the Musician MC500 and combines the elegant Artist design with the continuous "sandwich" construction and active EQ system of the Musician series.
Manufactured by FujiGen in Japan, the 2700 offers luxurious woods, high-end features and a sound that is unrivaled then and now.
Two Super 88 humbuckers (with tri-sound switches) deliver enormous flexibility - from crystal clear to brute.
The solid neck-through construction with seven-strip maple/walnut neck, ebony fingerboard and the sustain block under the Gibraltar bridge ensure endless sustain.
The centerpiece is the active EQ Tone circuit with preamp gain, input attenuation and 3-band EQ (±15dB), which can be deactivated if required - pure high-tech for 1978!
