This cool Jazzmaster was originally delivered in Daphne Blue, later repainted red, and then stripped of the paint again.
In the process, the red paint was completely removed; the look now consists of a mix of exposed wood and remaining paint fragments.
You can leave them as they are or have them professionally repainted—it's purely a matter of taste. Sound-wise, it makes no difference.
The original Black Bobbin pickups deliver the classic, open, warm Jazzmaster sound with brilliant highs and exceptional dynamics.
Our Captain Guitar Checkup confirms the presence of numerous original components as well as the authenticity of the body based on typical manufacturing characteristics such as nail holes, router marks, and the Desert Sand primer.
In short: Visually, it's a far cry from "mint" condition, but sonically, it's exactly where a good pre-CBS Jazzmaster should be.
