2005 Gibson – L-5 Wes Montgomery HSWM – Wine Red – ID 5842

Noble jazz archtop from the Gibson Custom Shop / Historic Series, built as a tribute to Wes Montgomery.
This HSWM ("Historic Wes Montgomery") model dates back to the coveted era under Custom Shop luthier James Hutchins and combines classic L-5 elegance with a warm, big jazz tone.
The combination of a single (presumably) '57 Classic neck humbucker and large hollowbody construction generates a round, open and dynamic archtop sound that you would expect from a high-quality L-5.
There is a crack in the lacquer on the back of the headstock, but it doesn't look like a broken headstock.
