2021 Gibson Custom Shop – 57 Les Paul Standard R7 – ID 5995

Until the 1956 model year, all Gibson Les Paul guitars were Goldtops, so the color selection was very limited. Until now, the pickups have been exclusively P-90s.
The 1957 Les Paul Goldtop was the first to feature the now-legendary PAF humbuckers, which were hum-free and offered higher output.
The latest '57 Reissue Custombuckers deliver exactly the open, dynamic PAF sound you'd expect from a Goldtop.
This copy is a first-hand item and was played, not just collected. The frets are in excellent condition. Under the pickguard, the nitrocellulose lacquer shows slight orange peel—a purely cosmetic detail that has no effect on sound or playability. On top of that, there are a few minor quirks that don't detract from its authentic character.
